Innovation Business Intelligence Engineer, North America Supply Chain

Amazon's North America Supply Chain (NASC) team is seeking a talented Business Intelligence Engineer.

This person will build analytics, success metrics and tech framework to support Package Free Shipping program (PFS). PFS is Amazon's initiative to reduce waste and cost per shipment by delivering package-free or in paper bags, through a complete redesign of existing 1P processes and tech.

This role will give you a unique view on Amazon systems, process and operations, interacting with fulfillment centers, last mile teams and worldwide technical teams. If you are someone who has shown success in analyzing, diving deep in complex data, streamlining and identifying process improvement opportunities and pioneering new ways to do things, we’d like to talk to you.

Key job responsibilities
  • Create global standard metrics for PFS across regions and perform benchmark analysis.
  • Be the single source of truth for PFS entitlement, and eligibility criteria.
  • Translate PFS business questions and concerns into specific analytical questions that can be answered with available data using BI tools; produce the required data when it is not available.
  • Communicate proposals and results in a clear manner backed by data and coupled with actionable conclusions to drive business decisions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from multidisciplinary science, engineering and business backgrounds to develop new features.
  • Develop efficient data querying and modeling infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
  • Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business
  • Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
