The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical-Surgical unit will deliver comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of nursing interventions. Working closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, the RN will manage patient needs, administer treatments, and ensure adherence to high-quality, evidence-based care standards.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3x12s (36 hours per week)
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical-Surgical unit will deliver comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of nursing interventions. Working closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, the RN will manage patient needs, administer treatments, and ensure adherence to high-quality, evidence-based care standards.
This role is crucial in delivering patient-centered care for post-op and medical-surgical patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized nursing care based on patient needs.
- Perform therapeutic interventions and manage patient care following clinical standards.
- Accurately document patient care, reflecting acuity and clinical priorities.
- Administer medications and post-op care to surgical patients.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.
- Provide patient-centered care in accordance with best practices and nursing guidelines.
- Ensure patient safety and compliance with facility policies.
- Adapt to floating to other inpatient units as required.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent medical-surgical experience.
- At least 3 years of bedside nursing experience, preferably in surgical/post-op units.
- Experience with telemetry and EPIC charting system is preferred.
Education & Certifications:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Valid NJ RN License or Multi-State Compact License.
- Current ACLS, BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications are mandatory.
