Job Summary

The Program Manager will plan, facilitate, oversee, and evaluate individual/group vocational and adult day support programs at a center and/or community. Our services are designed on a center basis, per members' Individual Service Plans. Each program is designed to build/maintain and improve social skills within the community and/or master general work skills.

The Program Manager participates in the selection, training, and supervision of staff and volunteers and ensures program compliance with company policies and procedures and safety and regulatory standards. The Program Manager leads by example - maintaining a positive attitude; being a thoughtful, supportive, productive, and dependable leader and co-worker; keeping our members safe, and always working to enhance the health and happiness of the people we serve and those who care for them.

Responsibilities:

  1. Promotes and guarantees the rights of and dignity and respect for all members served.
  2. Participate in assessing new members to identify interests, assess abilities, and determine how best to engage members and meet their needs; maintain accurate and updated files and records.
  3. Develop, plan, organize and implement diverse and creative programs for members; draft and publish related calendars and communications.
  4. Participate in an interview, hire, onboard and supervise Direct Support Specialists and volunteers; maintain master schedule and provide ongoing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations for designated team members.
  5. Manage supplies, equipment, and related expenditures within assigned budget; maintain program areas, supplies, and equipment, ensuring all are organized, clean, stocked, and in good working order.
  6. Actively participate in safety and quality initiatives, care planning conferences, and ongoing assessments; coordinate with internal and external ancillary services (i.e., nursing, transportation, social services, dietary, community agencies and resources, etc.) to ensure quality care is being provided to all members.
  7. Actively participate in staff meetings and in-service programs; collaborate with a cross-functional team, providing feedback and suggestions for enhancing the member experience and achieving the center’s overall goals & objectives.
  8. Stay current on related industry knowledge and trends through educational opportunities, publications, networking, and participation in professional organizations.
  9. Assist members in maintaining or improving self-help skills (e.g., dressing, eating, drinking, hygiene, toileting, etc.)
  10. Communicate in a positive, courteous, and professional manner with members and their families, co-workers, referral agencies, and the community at large.
  11. Comply with company policies and procedures, safety and regulatory laws, and standards, including but not limited to UI/MUI reporting, HIPPA, etc.
  12. Other duties and responsibilities as changed or assigned at any time.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor of Science Degree preferred; additional requirements as mandated by state-specific regulatory guidelines.
  2. Minimum of two years (or full-time equivalent) Programs experience at a supervisory level in a healthcare setting; additional requirements as mandated by state-specific regulatory guidelines.
  3. Prior experience working with adults with special needs preferred.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Able to work a flexible schedule.
  6. Able to stand and actively engage with members for an extended period; able to bend, pull, push, squat, turn, transfer and lift 50 pounds.
  7. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
  8. Successful results of a background check, and where applicable, additional state-specific regulatory requirements.
  9. Must obtain a valid C.P.R and First Aid Certificate prior to employment and maintain a valid C.P.R and First Aid Certificate throughout the term of employment.
