Overview:

The Welcome Center Supervisor (Part - Time) will support the Berger Foundation Iceplex Guest Experience Manager, point of sale front desk, Birthday parties, weekly reporting and concession orders. This will include supporting the Guest Experience Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Welcome Center and Iceplex

This Part time role will pay an hourly wage range of $23 - $25 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• Establish the Berger Foundation Iceplex as the predominant ice facility in the Coachella Valley through excellent customer service.
• Support the Guest Experience Manager with hiring and training new Welcome Center Specialists.
• Staff Scheduling, filling open shifts due to call outs.
• Support the Guest Experience Manager with operational duties as needed.
• Support Welcome Center Specialist Leads and cover their duties when they are on vacation or out sick.
• Provides efficient, gracious, and professional guest service and looks for opportunities to enhance the guest experience.
• Assisting Welcome Center Specialist Leads with their daily tasks as needed.
• Ensuring Welcome Center Specialists are taking appropriate breaks according to the shift worked
• Front desk responsibilities
• Weekly reporting as required
• Delegating work: Assigning tasks to team members
• Conduct point of sale transactions concessions, skate rentals, skate sharpening, drop-in activities, and program registration
• Welcome the public, provide venue information and directions
• Professionally and accurately execute policies and procedures
• Manage skate sharpeners, schedule trainings, manage monthly skate sharpening reports
• Intake and outtake of skate and equipment rentals for the public
• Help with sizing, lacing & cleaning skates upon return
• Support birthday party schedules, booking, set-up, and execution
• Training Birthday Specialists as needed
• Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and staff
• Execute policies and procedures professionally and accurately
• Accurately handle register transactions
• Process transactions for purchases and rentals
• Ensuring staff is keeping up on daily cleaning tasks within the department
• Support in-rink concessions – pizza, popcorn, snacks, and drinks service & sales. Including concessions orders and monthly reporting
• Attend all required training sessions and staff meetings
• Maintain a clean and safe facility
• Maintain supplies for Welcome Center
• Maintain supplies for Birthday’s
• Manage Iceplex holiday decorations
• Responsible for alerting managers to any unsafe or potentially hazardous ice conditions

Qualifications:

• Recreation facility or other customer service front desk experience
• Cash & sales transaction management
• League, facility schedule management
• Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and communicate with customers
• A high degree of personal integrity and consistently put the interests of the organization first
• Excellent communicator
• Experience with youth sports at the recreational and elite level
• Understanding of event and on-ice programming
• 2+ years’ work experience at an ice facility or other related sports complex
• Experience with sports scheduling software (preferably DAYSMART)

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required
• Position is performed throughout a recreational facility. Work will be done on and around the ice. Position involves sitting, standing, walking, stooping, lifting carrying, pushing, pulling, and ice skating
• Frequent bending, lifting 15-20 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairs
• Part-time hourly role
