Representative Payee - Full Time

Overview:

Community First Soluitions is looking for a Representative Payee to join our team!

This position provides direct service to payee clients and handles payee program accounts. This position provides individuals living in the community with a payee who will manage their budget and pay their bills in a timely manner. This position provides direction and support to the client concerning their finances.

This position is designed to manage the finances for the client with moderate to severe and persistent mental health disorders or developmental disabilities as well as the client with co-occurring Substance Use and Mental Health disorders. The Representative Payee will collaborate with other team members and other providers in the community as stated on the client’s consent form to assure proper payment of bills and managing of finances.

The Representative Payee is responsible for reporting annually to Social Security (if Social Security funds are received) and for providing timely account ledgers for the client’s needs for annual reviews of housing and/or JFS reviews.

  • Starting at $14.00/HR and goes up, based on experience

  • Part Time, 30 hours per week

Responsibilities:

  • Enter data to generate payment of clients’ financial obligations as needed
  • Enter data to generate basic needs weekly checks
  • Make return calls to all clients leaving a voicemail message, take appropriate action, and record in client record
  • Maintain good relationships with clients and support staff through timely and courteous communication by phone, mail, or e-mail
  • Work with co-payees on day-to-day activities
  • Maintain financial income/obligations for client caseload
  • Take phone referrals for prospective payee clients
  • Interview prospective clients and assist them with completing a proposed budget
  • Mail payee applications and required documentation to Social Security
  • Work with other agencies to establish payee services
  • Complete all on-going Social Security forms and attend reviews as requested by Social Security to maintain payee services
  • Maintain files and report any changes to Social Security
  • Maintain work history file and submit proof of earnings to Social Security
  • Maintain account for clients, Social Security, and auditors
  • Sort daily incoming mail and process appropriately
  • Represent the agency in a positive manner at all times
  • Participate in the Quality Improvement process as directed by Manager or Director
  • Complete other related duties as requested by Manager

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Licenses or other required certifications: None

Experience: 2 years of customer service, accounting and clerical experience required

Specialized knowledge, skills, or abilities: Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Clerical and data entry skills. Ability to prioritize and organize work. Ability to work with diverse populations. Ability to deal with public in a professional manner.

Math skills and experience with accounting software.
