Position Overview:

Join us in our fast-paced support to develop, advance, and sustain weapon systems for the U.S. Space Force (USSF) and its mission partners. You will be joining a team of personnel with experience and an in-depth understanding of the environments that include ground, near-space, space, and any system that operates in those environments to meet current and projected strategic, operational, and tactical needs for the Department of Defense (DoD).

QinetiQ is a mission-led innovation company that works with the USSF and DoD to design, develop, field, and maintain requirements essential to national security and the survivability of the warfighter.

We are seeking a Writer. The Writer is responsible for researching, drafting, and editing articles, speeches, and testimony on the organization, missions, operations, and initiatives as well as coordinating with the Government to ensure consistency of messages for internal and external audiences.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience in Technical Writing.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, draft, and edit articles, speeches, and testimony on the organization, missions, operations, and initiatives.
  • Responsible for gathering, developing, and checking the accuracy of information from a wide range of sources, to include but not limited to, the Acquisition Deltas and staff organizations.
  • Coordinate with the Government to ensure consistency of messages for internal and external audiences.
  • Perform additional research and provide recommendations on submissions from other staff activities to organize, balance, and apply a consistent sense of style, grammar, and flow to the finished product.
  • Coordinate with the Government to ensure accuracy and consistency of messages.

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience and expertise in Technical Writing, with prior experience with space programs preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research and produce information materials such as speeches, briefs, and other documentation.
  • Prior experience producing Government (DoD preferred) or Congressional reports.
  • Knowledgeable in Air Force, Space Force, and Space Systems Command documentation formatting and presentation preferred.
  • Experience Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
