Responsibilities:
Purpose: The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Manager works with Advanced Practice Provider and Division leadership and will function in liaison, oversight, and mentoring roles for other advanced practice providers. Assigned responsibility for mentoring advanced practice providers and interactions with stakeholders.Provides professional practice leadership, education, and mentoring, in matters relating to advanced practice, through interactions with peers, APPs, and stakeholders. Supports and promotes the professional development of APRNs or PAs. Serves as the liaison between the APRN/PAs and upper-level advanced practice leaders.
Utilizes knowledge, skills, and abilities to optimize APP practice and utilization while supporting APP Leads (where applicable) and front-line staff with sustainable models. Aligns with system strategic goals and translates these goals into operations activities and guides their direct reports in the execution.
Provides health care services to patients working in collaboration with a licensed physician member of the medical staff. Healthcare services provided include care during acute and chronic phases of illness, education, and counseling of individuals and families, health promotion and prevention, and referral to other healthcare providers and community resources when appropriate
45% Administrative:
- Serves as Leader for APRNs and PA-Cs within assigned departments as directed by the APP Director
- Manages operations, front-line supervisors (APP Leads), and APPs
- Provides oversight related to day-to-day activities of APPs including scheduling, training/onboarding,
- Responsible for the annual performance review of system-recognized direct reports.
- Interacts primarily with peers and subordinates to share information in order to resolve routine matters and gain cooperation
- Develop, administer, and oversee education and assessment of clinical competencies for APPs they support
- Monitors and Evaluates data collection and analysis of Quality and Patient Satisfaction Metrics
50% Clinical/Patient Care Duties/Responsibilities:
- Evaluates new and existing patients. Assesses the physical and psychosocial status of patients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, laboratory studies, and diagnostic studies.
- Works in collaboration with a physician in formulating treatment plans for health problems and follow-up.
- Performs and/or assists with diagnostic procedures as outlined in the SCA or SA.
- Administers therapeutic measures/obtains specimens as prescribed.
- Interprets and evaluates findings of studies/tests. Schedules diagnostic and operative procedures.
- Recognizes deviations from normal in the physical, laboratory, and radiographic assessment of patients.
- Relays appropriate information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician.
5% Organizational/Departmental Duties/Responsibilities:
- Helps support and is accountable to the development of ongoing progress of clinical outcomes to achieve organizational objectives,
- Ensures that departmental and intradepartmental policies, procedures, and standards of care are followed and assists in interpreting these to others
- Acts as a role model and resource person for administrators, staff, and the community.
- Ensures and maintains patient/family confidentiality, privacy, and patient rights at all times.
- Informs management and/or Nurse Executives of actual/potential problems that require resolution at the administrative level.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of relevant Cardiology ambulatory experience as an advanced practice provider
- Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN in the State of Ohio.
- Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or Masters Prepared; or Graduate of a PA-C program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination recognized by the National Certification Commission for Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
- Eligibility for State of Ohio licensure as a PA-C.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
- Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
- Analytical ability and critical thinking to gather and interpret data and develop, recommend, and implement solutions.
Pay Range: USD $122,832.08 - USD $211,733.98 /Yr.
