Staff Accountant - Fort Myers

We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant position based in Fort Myers, Florida. This role is crucial within the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will be expected to manage and reconcile balance sheet accounts, post non-patient cash receipts, prepare journal entries, and assist with audit preparation.

• Handle the reconciliation process of balance sheet accounts and investigate any discrepancies
• Manage non-patient cash receipts and ensure they are accurately posted to the respective AR sub ledgers
• Prepare necessary journal entries in a timely and accurate manner
• Provide assistance in setting up new financial year accounts, binders, and folders
• Participate in audit preparations and provide necessary support and documentation
• Use skills such as Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation, and Journal Entries to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role within the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry.
• Demonstrated proficiency in account reconciliation and balance sheet account reconciliation.
• Experience with preparing and posting journal entries.
• Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
• Familiarity with healthcare industry regulations and standards related to accounting would be a plus.
