About Our Client

Our Client has been a trusted leader in the Lehigh Valley for over 50 years, specializing in excavation and sitework contracting. Services include a complete range of site preparation for various construction projects, including road construction, utility installation, commercial and industrial site preparation, sinkhole remediation, parking lot construction, and retaining wall erection.

Job Description
  • Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates.
  • Develop bids and proposals for excavation, road construction, utility installations, sinkhole remediation, and other sitework projects.
  • Perform site visits to assess project conditions and potential challenges.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure estimates align with project objectives.
  • Analyze and evaluate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure estimates remain within budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market pricing, and materials.
  • Assist in contract negotiations and provide input on cost-saving measures.

The Successful Applicant
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating for excavation, sitework, or civil construction.
  • Strong understanding of excavation, roadwork, utility installation, and related construction practices.
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Bid2Win) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Familiarity with PennDOT standards and regulations is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to conduct site visits as needed.
