About Our Client

Our Client has been a trusted leader in the Lehigh Valley for over 50 years, specializing in excavation and sitework contracting. Services include a complete range of site preparation for various construction projects, including road construction, utility installation, commercial and industrial site preparation, sinkhole remediation, parking lot construction, and retaining wall erection.

Job Description

Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates.
Develop bids and proposals for excavation, road construction, utility installations, sinkhole remediation, and other sitework projects.
Perform site visits to assess project conditions and potential challenges.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure estimates align with project objectives.
Analyze and evaluate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Monitor project progress to ensure estimates remain within budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market pricing, and materials.
Assist in contract negotiations and provide input on cost-saving measures.

The Successful Applicant

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating for excavation, sitework, or civil construction.
Strong understanding of excavation, roadwork, utility installation, and related construction practices.
Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Bid2Win) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents.
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
Familiarity with PennDOT standards and regulations is a plus.
Valid driver's license and ability to conduct site visits as needed.
