Patient Care Coordinator

Our Fortune 100 Client is offering a contract employment opportunity for a Patient Care Coordinator, based in Orlando, Florida. The Patient Care Coordinator role is pivotal for ensuring efficient administrative support for the clinic, processing patient referrals for Medicare Advantage plan, and providing front office support, including patient check-ins.
The Patient Care Coordinator follows an 8 AM - 5 PM shift Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients upon their arrival and ensure a maximum waiting time of 20 minutes
- Support patients with intake procedures, including making copies of necessary documents
- Coordinate and process all patient referrals for specialty services efficiently
- Promptly input all referral, hospital outpatient, DME, and other patient specialty health service authorizations into the computer system, adhering to company policies and procedures
- Receive consultant reports, maintain the associated documentation, and promptly route them to the relevant physician
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments effectively
- Timely completion of all administrative tasks related to referral activities
- Ensure all correspondence is scanned and/or filed promptly
- Perform all other duties as assigned, related to the role.
- One to two years of related work experience including data entry.
- Working knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology.
- Ability to accurately sort and file materials by alphabetic or numeric systems.
- Effective communication and customer service skills required.
- Ability to multitask effective time-management and organization.
