Global Logistics NPI and Network Lead

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to be part of the logistics team within our Global Supply Chain. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented New Product Introduction (NPI) and Logistics Network leader to ensure the successful launching of pharmaceutical products.
This role will be the key representative to ensure the seamless integration of products and therapies into our Global Logistics network. This leader will be part of the transformation of our global logistics network and will help drive efficiency, compliance, and scalability.

This leader will work cross-functionally with the Global supply chain organization, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, quality assurance, and commercial teams to ensure the Global Logistics team is successful in delivering products to the market on time to meet patient’s needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

New Product Introduction
  • Lead Global Logistics Strategy for New Therapies & Modalities. Representing Logistics will oversee the seamless introduction of innovative pharmaceutical products, including biologics, gene therapies, cell therapies, and novel small-molecule drugs into the global supply chain.
  • Be part of cross-Functional Product Launch Teams. Partner with Global Supply Chain, clinical operations, Global Trade Management, Sourcing, quality assurance, commercial, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust Logistics plans are part of the supply chain strategy that supports timely and compliant market entry.
  • Global Logistics Readiness for Advanced Modalities. Partner with the rest of the Global Logistics Team to execute Logistics models specific to complex therapies such as personalized medicine, mRNA vaccines, and cell therapies, ensuring cold-chain integrity, just-in-time manufacturing.
  • Partner with Logistics Temp Control team and Quality to ensure all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and Good Clinical Practices (GCP) are met for investigational and commercialized drugs, particularly for highly regulated therapies requiring specialized handling and traceability.
  • Ensure programs have Logistics Plans in place to manage Clinical-to-Commercial Transition. Design and implement strategies for scaling up supply chains from clinical trials to full commercial launch, addressing capacity planning, lot tracking etc for advanced therapies.
  • Where possible develop risk mitigation & contingency Plans for Global Logistics. Develop robust contingency plans to mitigate supply disruptions, ensuring uninterrupted availability of critical, life-saving therapies.
  • To create easy to understand executive level presentations to communicate and align/influence the Global Logistics plans to the overall strategy, timing and rollout.
Logistics Network Design
  • Will play a key role in overseeing the storage, transportation, and inventory management strategy for the Global Logistics team. This role ensures regulatory compliance, product integrity, and operational efficiency within the logistics network. They will collaborate with internal teams, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and regulatory bodies to optimize supply chain performance while maintaining high standards for cold chain management, security, and traceability.
  • Global Logistics Readiness for Advanced Modalities. Develop Global Logistics network models specific to complex therapies such as personalized medicine, mRNA vaccines, and autologous cell therapies, ensuring cold-chain integrity, just-in-time manufacturing, and controlled distribution.
  • Design, implement, and optimize the pharmaceutical logistics network to enhance service levels and reduce costs.
  • Analyze and model supply chain flows to identify optimal sourcing, distribution, and warehousing strategies.
  • Evaluate and select logistics partners (3PLs, cold-chain providers) to ensure product integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions and ensure business continuity.
  • Partner with Consultants and internal Logistics performance teams to use data analytics and simulation models to improve transportation routes, warehousing efficiency, and delivery lead times.
  • Ensure compliance with global pharmaceutical logistics regulations, including temperature-sensitive handling.
Relationship Management
  • Develops and maintains relationships with third-party warehouses and carriers. May facilitate business review meetings as required
  • Takes on full responsibility within scope of the position and/or materials or projects managed to work with various cross-functional groups (such as Quality, Tech Ops, Regulatory, suppliers, etc.) to proactively and collaboratively resolve issues that may block the timely flow of materials or projects.
  • Presents updates to the Transportation Leadership Team with Clear Timing and deliverables.
  • Participate in Business reviews and assist in long term capacity and network strategy initiatives.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • S. degree in Operational Management/Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering or Similar
  • MBA, master’s degree, or Logistics/Supply Chain certifications (CSCP) preferred.
  • Consulting background preferred or must have 3+ Years in a strategic role withing a Global Supply Chain
  • 5+ Years of various experience of Supply Chain, Logistics within the pharmaceutical or life science industry
  • Proven track record in managing new product introductions and Logistics Network Optimization
  • Strong knowledge of Cold-Chain Logistics, Good Distribution Practices and GMP Compliance
  • Life Science or Pharmaceutical experience a must.
