Parts Counter Specialist, LT
Working Hours/Days: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday – Friday, some after hours emergency parts service would be needed occasionally
Basic Duties:
- Assist walk-in customers, phone customers, online orders and Altorfer employees with parts orders.
- Complete required paperwork and computer data entry of parts documentation/invoicing,, ordering, stocking and selling of supply items.
- Will ship and receive freight with basic forklift.
- Operate a basic forklift and pallet jack to pick or move inventory when needed.
- Responsible for keeping record of parts inventory, doing weekly inventory counts and entering count data.
- Use computer parts books system to look up certain parts and process orders as they come in.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous warehouse experience required. A minimum of 2 years previous experience in parts, inventory experience is preferred.
- Must have computing experience with MS Excel, Word, and general computer literacy.
- Must be a self-starter with good time management, planning, and organizational skills with a commitment to detail.
- Must have a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.
- Previous forklift and pallet jack experience needed
- Excellent communication skills (written, e-mail, and verbal) are necessary.
- Must be able to handle general math calculations on money, weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Able to lift 75lbs., climb ladders and stairs on a daily basis.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate)
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
This position works in both office and warehouse environments. May, on a continuous basis sit at a desk for long periods of time, answer phone calls and write or use a keyboard to communicate through email. May on a continuous basis, walk, bend and lift up to 75lbs The wearing of approved safety equipment (i.e. safety glasses with side shields and steel toe footwear) is required.Noise level in the office is usually low and the noise level in the warehouse may range from low to moderate. Must be flexible during peak season working overtime as needed. Occasional local travel may be required.
