By joining our Department of Vehicle as an Administrative Specialist Senior in Franklin County, you will have the opportunity to interpret and apply federal/state laws, rules, regulations and departmental policy in the issuing, revoking, suspending, and reinstating of driver licenses and maintaining the accuracy of the driving record.
Holders of the Administrative Specialist III position will complete tasks such as:
- Interprets federal and state laws, regulations, departmental rules, and policies as they relate to the Division of Driver Licensing programs and issues.
- Evaluates, researches, and processes all court ordered actions as they apply to the driving history record that were entered into the KY Driver License Information System and Commercial Driver License Information System to ensure compliance with federal, state, and agency reporting requirements
- Reviews and analyzes, correct driving history records for convictions and non-compliances received from in- state and out of state courts, Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Department of Revenue and make modifications as required.
- Assists with the REAL ID program, license issuance process, and provide superior customer service via our phone systems.
- Analytical skills, ability to investigate issues, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills with ability to defuse situations
- Work well under pressure and the ability to work with a team
- Excellent computer skills
Desired candidates possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position:
- Professional level customer service and training experience
- Working with personal and confidential information
- Ability to multi-task and work well without close supervision
- Excellent computer skills and ability to work with multiple software systems
This position requires using various computer programs and sitting at a desk for extended periods of time.

Minimum RequirementsEDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Probationary PeriodThis job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
