Work closely with and report to the Senior Manager of the Research Information Systems (RIS) group, primarily responsible for analyzing, developing and performing business processes in support of Research Operations, as well as managing critical business tasks and processes for the efficient and compliant administration of research in support of all units within Research Operations. Job Duties include:

ITS Support to the larger Research community on the research administration systems managed by RIS (InfoEd, VelosCT, ClinCard, Infor-Grants Module, SPIN) and assist with identifying process based and technological solutions to other research related administrative issues, along with assisting in the configuration of those systems, onboarding of users, and developing the related communications.

Utilize various software tools for data extraction and analysis for project support as well as ad hoc reports for Research Operations senior management.
Testing and Implementation: Involved in testing applications to ensure they function as expected, meet quality standards, and satisfy user requirements. This includes unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

Assist in the deployment or rollout of new applications or updates.

Work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of multiple dependent and co-dependent factors.
Conduct interviews to gather business requirements, understand and map the full life cycle of business processes to ensure compliance with internal and external policies.
Act as liaison between internal and external stakeholders and vendors to define, document and review business and system requirements.

Assist with and/or create project documentation for all internal system application and integration projects including user and internal documentation, functional, technical and conceptual design specifications, requirements/due diligence, use-cases, testing scenarios, process flow charts etc.

Work with and join multiple large datasets together in RIS systems and Microsoft Excel.
Work with user groups (internal and external) to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs and recommend changes to the systems.
Provide standard operating reports for administrative activities in Research Operations.
Analyze metric reports to identify & interpret trends, variances and business performance. Communicate findings in a clear and concise format.
Works cross-functionally with other departments to coordinate activities and project assignments in order to ensure that BMC meets customer expectations.
Manage issues, risks and customer requirements to ensure customers receive prompt, efficient service in accordance with company policies while also gaining formal approval through governance processes.
Collaborate with Information Technology Services (ITS) from BMC and vendors on major conversions, upgrades and enhancements.
Assist in overall Software/Systems implementations and integrations.
Provide transactional support utilizing an Extract, Transfer, Load (ETL) technical process, in support of Research Operations core processes: Infor Project Setups Project Rolls, Mass data loads for account maintenance and updates).
Work with users and programmers to optimize system performance.
User Security Management for all Research systems; including user setup, deactivation and security data audits.
Manage process design improvement initiatives; including electronic workflow development where role is responsible for working with clients to understand business needs, including mapping, improving, and automating processes via Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN).

E.g., form building via Forms Assembly software.

Serve as systems expert (tier 3) for Research systems and tools.

Mentor junior Business Analyst.

EDUCATION

Bachelors degree in Operations Research, Management Science, Computer Science or closely related analytic field.

EXPERIENCE:

2 years of data analytics experience in the healthcare industry involving the following: (1) working with large data and creating complex reports and queries; (2) performing data extraction, cleaning, analysis and manipulation; and (3) working with database visualization tools and management query software (e.g., SQL) and relational databases. The stated experience must also include 2 years implementing ETL systems and processes.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Must have familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint as demonstrated by education, training or prior experience.
