Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Florida provides programs and services for children and adolescents who face significant emotional, behavioral and intellectual/developmental challenges. Located in Titusville, FL, this position is dual/hyrbid role that will be responsible for cooking meals and provided direct support to our individuals in our care. Responsibilities include:
Cook Responsibilities (70%)- Prepare and serve meals according to established menus
- Monitor food usage
- Store dietary supplies properly
- Report safety issues to the Program Coordinator
- Participate in monthly Environment of Care inspections to ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards.
- Personal Care: Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Behavioral Support: Implement behavior management plans and support individuals in developing coping strategies.
- Skill Development: Facilitate skill-building activities, including social skills, communication, and life skills training.
- Crisis Intervention: Recognize signs of distress and de-escalate situations effectively and safely.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of client progress, incidents, and daily activities.
- Transportation: Assist clients with transportation to appointments, community activities, or school.
- Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, nurses, and family members.
- Training and Education: Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on best practices in behavioral health support.

Position Details:
Salary: starts at $17.55 / hour (rate is based on education and relevant experience)
Schedule: Monday - Friday: 12pm-8pm

Qualifications:
EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent. Additional training in food preparation preferred.
EXPERIENCE: At least one year food preparation experience in an institutional setting preferred. Previous experience with the National Lunch Program is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds, walk, run, stoop, kneel, push/pull and reach above shoulders.
Other Requirements:
- Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Screen, Physical, and TB Test.
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to complete a two-week (Monday - Friday) new hire orientation class; hours are approximately 9:00am to 5:00pm each day. Orientations are offered in Titusville, FL.
