Responsibilities:

The Nurse Manager for the Infusion Cancer Center Program is responsible for the overall management and coordination of nursing services within the Infusion Cancer Center. This role includes ensuring high standards of patient care, overseeing staff performance, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

The Nurse Manager will work collaboratively with the Montefiore Team, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide exemplary care to cancer patients receiving infusion therapy.

Supervise and manage the nursing staff within the Infusion Cancer Center, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.

Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance patient care and ensure regulatory compliance.

Weekly and/or monthly meetings with infusion nurses.

Oversee the delivery of high-quality patient care, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and best practices.

Address patient concerns and complaints promptly and effectively, ensuring patient satisfaction.

Monitor patient outcomes and implement improvement initiatives, as necessary.

Provide monthly infusion scorecard.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.

Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high standards of care and safety.

Collaborate with the quality improvement team to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Ensure Oncology Policy and Procedures are updated/ reviewed every 2 years.

Monthly presentation to Montefiore & SJRH administration.

Complete daily chemo audits.

Manage the department's budget, including staffing, supplies, and equipment.

Ensure efficient utilization of resources while maintaining quality patient care.

Participate in the selection and evaluation of new equipment and technologies.

Submit abstract or bills for payment.

Submit yearly cancer PI report.

Work closely with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.

Facilitate effective communication between patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Represent the Infusion Cancer Center in hospital committees and external meetings as needed.

Provide ongoing education and training for nursing staff to keep abreast of the latest developments in oncology and infusion therapy.

Promote continuous learning and professional development opportunities.

Lead and participate in staff meetings, in-services, and other educational activities. Ex: community service initiatives, Relay for Life.

Assist with planning of yearly Oncology seminar.

Arrange monthly in services with pharmaceutical companies.

Attend the Hudson Valley ONS meetings monthly.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in oncology or infusion therapy. Previous management or supervisory experience required. Strong leadership and team-building skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to manage multiple prioritiesand work in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of healthcare data standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

CCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state.

Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
