Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team in Ithaca, NY. The ideal candidate will perform PET, SPECT, and other nuclear imaging procedures to assist in disease diagnosis while ensuring patient safety and compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct PET, SPECT, and other nuclear imaging studies to support disease diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Prepare and administer radioactive tracers, ensuring accurate dosage and adherence to safety protocols.
• Operate nuclear medicine cameras to capture high-quality images and assess organ function.
• Follow radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure for patients, staff, and self.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions to radiopharmaceuticals and provide appropriate care as needed.
• Accurately record patient data, scan results, and dosage administration in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Assist in diagnosing conditions by providing technical expertise and high-quality imaging.
• Perform routine equipment checks, calibrations, and report malfunctions to ensure optimal functionality.
• Educate patients on procedures, address concerns, and provide post-scan care instructions.
• Ensure compliance with New York State licensing requirements, hospital protocols, and NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) guidelines.

Requirements:

• 1+ years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
• New York State (NYS) License in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• ARRT (N) Certification.
• AHA BLS Certification.
