Coder / Specialist

We are in search of a Coder / Specialist, who will be a part of our team located in East Hartford, Connecticut. This role provides an opportunity to work in a remote setting, focusing on coding within a healthcare industry context. This long-term contract role requires a professional with a deep understanding of ICD 10-CM diagnostic and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes, UHDDS, and various DRG methodologies.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and manage patient coding in an acute care hospital setting
• Maintain precise records of patient coding and other related information
• Handle customer inquiries and provide appropriate solutions
• Utilize Microsoft Office Products, especially Word and Excel, and Encoder and/or CAC effectively
• Read, interpret and translate physician writing proficiently
• Independently manage multiple priorities and deliver results efficiently
• Delegate tasks effectively to team members and maintain a positive learning environment
• Utilize coding subject matter expertise to support Levels 1-3 coders and other projects
• Exhibit strong analytical capabilities, excellent organizational skills, and project management skills
• Use your proficiency in English to read, write, and speak effectively in all work-related contexts
• Leverage your knowledge and experience of Clinical Trial Operations and Workstation Support.
• Demonstrable skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Office Suites
• Proficiency in Project Management and Workstation Support
• Fluent in English Language with skills in Language Interpretation
• Familiarity with Clinical Trial Operations, Coding, and Submission methodologies
• Knowledge of Assertion Markup Language and IP Protocol
• Prior experience in Inpatient healthcare settings
• Ability to learn and adapt in a dynamic Learning Environment
• Expertise in HealthCare System operations
• Proficiency in Procedure Codes, ICD-10, TRICARE, and Diagnosis Related Groups
• Certified Coding credentials are essential
• Familiarity with MS-DRG and All Patient Refined Diagnosis Related Groups (APR DRG)
• Experience with 'About Time' software would be advantageous
• Expertise in specific areas of coding would be a plus.
