Plastic Injection Molding Set Up - Team Leader

Reporting to the Production Group Leader (Supervisor), the Set Up Team Leader will support approximately 5-10 Plastic Injection Molding Set Ups. The Team Leader will utilize leader standard work to coach, develop and build capabilities of Set Ups
Standard Work Hours:
- First shift: Monday - Friday, 6am - 2pm
- Ability to flex to work other shifts occasionally for training purposes is preferred

Primary duties:
- Assimilate and train new Set Ups
- Communicate safety news, quality findings, human resources updates and line rate/goals to team in daily pre-shift meeting.
- Ensure all team members are following safety procedures. Obtain proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for team members when necessary.
- Work with team members to generate and support ideas for Continuous Improvement. Keep a mindset of Continuous Improvement in everything you do.
- Hold team members accountable for adherence to standardized work and safety guidelines.
- Escalate any production issues/systemic problems to Group Leaders.
- Maintain shift-to-shift communications with other Team Leaders and Group Leaders.
- Update and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and other metrics for area/zone.
- Set-up, install, adjust, repair, test, calibrate, and may operate production line machinery.
- Troubleshoot machinery and equipment as needed.
- Remove molds from press after completion of run
- Perform machine adjustments within allowable parameters
- Keep work area clean and orderly
- Identify improvement ideas and making recommendations
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
What You Need To Succeed:
- Previous set-up experience in a plastics manufacturing environment is required
- Previous leadership experience is preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot injection molding process issues.
- Strong knowledge of the plastic injection molding processes
- Positive attitude with ability to function in a team environment
- Flexibility to work overtime as scheduled
- High School diploma or GED preferred but not required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
