Alera Group is looking for a Strategic Accounts - Senior Employee Benefits Consultant. We are seeking highly motivated colleagues who bring experience and enthusiasm to our team – joining us may be the perfect fit for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in assigned self-insured groups, including executives and HR professionals.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of clients' benefit plans, utilization, and financial performance to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
  • Develop customized benefit strategies and long-term plans aligned with clients' business objectives and employee demographics.
  • Design and implement tailored benefit plans, covering medical, dental, vision, prescription drugs, and wellness programs.
  • Implement cost containment strategies and ensure compliance with relevant regulations (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA).
  • Negotiate contracts with third-party administrators, insurers, and service providers to secure competitive pricing and service levels.
  • Use data analytics to provide clients with actionable insights, deliver employee education materials, and recommend program adjustments for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in employee benefits consulting, with a focus on self-insured groups or large employers.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare, insurance industry trends, products, and regulations.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data to non-technical audiences.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CEBS, PHR, SPHR, CBP) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and benefit administration software preferred.
