Accounts Payable Clerk

We are offering a contract for an Accounts Payable Clerk position in Modesto, California. This role is based within the retail industry, and will involve a range of responsibilities, from processing checks to resolving Accounts Payable issues.

• Analyzing invoice expenses and charging them to accounts and cost centers
• Ensuring accurate and efficient input of invoices, checks, and other documents
• Verifying and posting transactions to maintain accounting ledgers
• Resolving purchase orders, contract invoices or payment discrepancies and maintaining documentation
• Ensuring invoices are charging applicable sales tax and maintaining invoices for quarterly sales tax report
• Managing department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it daily
• Providing support within the accounting team, as required
• Reconciling monthly vendor statements and shipping vendors/statements
• Handling daily customer deposits and weekly cash reconciliation
• Managing the verification and mailing process of checks
• Maintaining company vehicle lists and registrations
• Processing customer credit applications accurately and efficiently
• Maintaining accurate customer credit records.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an Accounts Payable position in the retail industry
• Proven experience handling Accounts Payable (AP)
• Demonstrated proficiency in running check runs
• Expertise in coding invoices is required
• Strong data entry skills are mandatory
• Experience in invoice processing is necessary
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel is essential
• Must have experience reconciling vendor statements
