Senior Project Controller - Conshohocken
Our office is executing cutting-edge Design projects for Cell & Gene Therapy, Biologics, and Pharma facilities – from feasibility through qualification – for both local and international clients. With our clients and partners, we will deliver projects that improve the everyday lives of people across the globe.
This is a senior-level career position and we are looking for a Design Project Controller who enjoys client interaction as well as the technical aspects of the position. They will also be involved with the mentoring and development to less experienced Project Controls team members.Project sizes will vary and will consist primarily of life science industry projects doing both existing building improvements and new construction.

- - Develop, manage, and execute all phases of the project controls effort (planning/scheduling and cost analysis), including schedule management, cost estimating and budget forecasting
- Integrate scheduling, establish effective work breakdown structures and cost coding protocols (direct and indirect cost elements) for planning and reporting of actual project progress and efficiency
- Cost Opinion / Estimation for front end studies (feasibility & concept)
- Meet cost-reporting commitments, as well as assess costs, forecasts and trends against approved budgets
- Develop and report risk analyses and contingency calculations
- Establish and maintain program protocols and processes needed to facilitate project reporting and management of project-controls related resource requirements
- Provide guidance, direction and specialized assistance on projects for the resolution of difficult and complex project control problems
- Interface with staff and stakeholders, attend regular meetings and provide statistical reports to project managers and management staff
- Oversee the development and maintenance of a Project Controls plan to show the hierarchy of project plans and schedules
- Keep project and executive management fully informed throughout the duration of projects
- Coordinate staffing requirements, assign and supervise project work activities
- Recommend and oversee the customization of project control systems needed to meet specific project requirements
- Create statistical reports for management on a recurring or one-of-a-kind basis
- Special projects as assigned
- - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, or a related technical field. If no degree, relevant work experience will be considered
- 10+ Years of experience in a design firm setting (preferably in the Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, Cell & Gene Therapy sectors)
- Strong technical ability combined with good leadership and communication skills
- Proven ability working closely with project managers and other stakeholders to establish and maintain appropriate project controls systems that provide timely and accurate information
- A combination of superior skills with project controls tools, estimating, cost engineering, scheduling, construction management and corporate business management acumen
- Ability to evaluate, analyze, forecast and report schedule status against a baseline schedule
- The ability to assess the impacts of design/construction changes and schedule slippages, including but not limited, to earned value techniques for cost and schedule progress assessment while keeping project and executive management fully informed
- Ability to work in a fast paced design and construction environment with experience and expertise in project performance measurements
- Requires baseline engineering knowledge of electrical, mechanical, civil, or other related fields
- Proficient computer skills including a proficiency in various software packages such as Excel, P6 and Microsoft Office
- Proven ability to perform in a supervisory capacity when needed
- Thorough knowledge of industry practices is required
- The role is office based but travel may be required based on project needs; possibly up to 10%
