Our client, a personal injury law firm in NYC, is seeking to hire a Workers Compensation Attorney. We will consider qualified applicants with six months to three years of workers’ compensation experience. This position will entail representing injured workers throughout litigation processes to ensure they receive maximum benefits.
Summary
Workers’ Compensation attorney representing the injured workers in all phases of litigation to help him/her obtain maximum benefits.
On a daily basis, our workers compensation attorneys manage about 8-10 hearings per day. Some days are lighter than others. These hearings are done virtually, workers compensation attorneys are not going into court, but litigating via Zoom.
Essential Functions
Answer client questions and guide him/her through the workers' compensation process.
Litigating cases before a workers' compensation judge.
Represent the interests of the claimant at hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings.
Assist the injured worker with workers' compensation benefits, including appropriate medical care.
Contact medical providers and complete paperwork relating to the claim.
Drafting pleadings, findings of fact, motions, opinions, and other legal documents.
Negotiate settlements on behalf of the claimant.
Remaining current with developments in the law.- Must hold a valid license to practice law in NY state.
- A minimum of one year of experience as a practicing attorney or lawyer.
- Proficient in drafting and briefing legal documents.
- Experience in handling Civil Litigation cases.
- Knowledge of Workers Comp Law is essential.
- Experience in dealing with Workers Compensation cases preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Must maintain confidentiality and act professionally at all times.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
