Senior Network & Security Engineer
Maintains a healthy network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency through SNMP/Netflow & device availability monitoring tools
Provide detailed solutions and technical support for both on-premises and cloud-based deployments in AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
Develop and implement network security policies, procedures, and controls to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats by using security technologies including STP, ARP, OSPF, VLANs, VACLs, VPNs, and other related technologies.
Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and remediate security risks and vulnerabilitiesProvide secure network connectivity solutions using firewalls, DNS forward and reverse proxies, IPSec Site-to-Site/Remote Access VPNs, IPS/IDS, NAT, URL Filtering, SSL decryption, ACLs, Port Forwarding, Cisco Cloud Security, Cisco firewalls, and Multi-factor Authentication, etc.
Monitor network traffic and security logs for signs of security incidents or anomalies and respond promptly to security incidents as they occurCollaborate with internal teams to define network and security requirements for new projects and initiatives and provide technical guidance and expertise.
Research and evaluate emerging technologies and security threats to stay abreast of industry trends and best practices and recommend improvements to enhance the security posture of the organization
Responsible for the creation and maintenance of technical documentation to ensure it is updated and current
Performs network maintenance, upgrades, and refreshes by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the IT team and contribute to their professional development
Minimum Requirements for the Position:
4 years of experience in network engineering and network security including network protocols, routing, switching, firewalls and security technologies including STP, ARP, OSPF, VLANs, VACLs, VPNs, SPAN/RSPAN, DNS forward and reverse proxies, IPSec Site-to-Site/Remote Access VPNs, IPS/IDS, NAT, URL Filtering, SSL decryption, ACLs, Port Forwarding, Cisco Cloud Security, Cisco firewalls, and Multi-factor authentication); network hardware and software experience using Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, Palo Alto, Meraki MX, or AWS; network monitoring and management tools, such as Netflow, SNMP, Syslog servers and Wireshark; cloud-based deployments in AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
The 4 years of experience must include a minimum of one year of experience working in network engineering and network security for a company doing business in financial services or financial services technology.
