Position Overview:
We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator to manage daily shipping, receiving, and inventory operations. This key role will involve overseeing the flow of goods, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of products, managing inventory levels, and maintaining an organized, efficient warehouse.The Logistics Coordinator will work closely with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure that customer orders are fulfilled on time and in compliance with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Shipping & Receiving: Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring that products are correctly received, inspected, and stored, and that shipments are accurately prepared and sent to customers. Ensure all necessary shipping documentation is completed.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels in the warehouse. Perform regular stock counts, track inventory movement, and maintain accurate records to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Order Fulfillment: Coordinate the picking, packing, and shipping of orders. Ensure that all customer orders are processed in a timely manner and that the correct items are shipped to the correct locations.
- Warehouse Organization: Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and properly labeled. Maintain storage systems to ensure that items are easy to locate, minimizing downtime and improving operational efficiency.
- Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Work with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries of materials and products. Communicate regularly with vendors to ensure accurate lead times and inventory replenishment.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare shipping manifests, track shipments, and maintain inventory records. Provide reports to management on inventory levels, shipping performance, and order statuses.
- Quality Control: Inspect products during receiving and shipping processes to ensure that they meet company standards and are free from damage or defects. Coordinate the return of damaged goods with vendors or carriers.
- Shipping Logistics: Work closely with external shipping carriers to arrange pick-ups and deliveries. Negotiate shipping rates and ensure that cost-effective methods are used for domestic and international shipments.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all warehouse operations comply with safety regulations. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
- Customer Service: Provide support to the customer service team in resolving shipping discrepancies, returns, or other issues related to deliveries.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, or inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, or construction-related environment.
- Inventory Management: Proficiency in managing inventory, including stock rotation, cycle counting, and working with inventory management software.
- Shipping & Receiving Knowledge: Experience with shipping processes, including preparing shipping documents, understanding freight classifications, and coordinating with freight carriers.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure that all shipments and inventory are accurately managed.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, and shipping platforms (e.g., FedEx, UPS, freight carriers). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues related to inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, and shipping delays.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry heavy packages, stand for extended periods, and operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Teamwork: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team to achieve organizational goals.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Forklift Certification: Previous experience operating a forklift or pallet jack, and a forklift certification is preferred.
- Logistics Software Experience: Experience using logistics and warehouse management software (WMS) to track inventory, shipments, and deliveries.
- Customer Service Experience: Prior experience providing customer service or managing relationships with vendors, suppliers, or shipping carriers.
- Knowledge of Shipping Regulations: Familiarity with shipping regulations, including international shipping requirements and customs documentation.
