JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The Maintenance Technician is a full-time position in our manufacturing facility This position plays a critical role in keeping our manufacturing plant running in top condition serves as a backup for the Mill Operator and ensures that our customers receive exceptional customer service.

This position's work hours are 12:30pm - 9:00pm.

This person filling this role is responsible for overall maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, and machinery as well as product loading

including:

  • Install, adjust, and repair production equipment and special purpose machines as assigned.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance on automated and manual equipment.
  • Test, reset, correct, replace PLC systems: including coding, gates, eyes, input/outputs, control centers.
  • Perform general repairs to plant structures.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts, and complete tasks as assigned.
  • Weld and use cutting torch as required.
  • Keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Test malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs, and discuss with Plant or Site Manager for approval and repair.
  • Install equipment and electrical components and test to ensure the proper functioning.
  • Observe mechanical devices and equipment and listen to sounds to determine proper functioning or identify causes of trouble.
  • Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Replace and install parts as needed.
  • Lubricate and clean parts/replace packing and equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory count of items in the warehouse.
  • Provide assistance, insight, and accountability for Plant Safety Committee.
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
  • Understand and follow the safety rules and practices in accordance with the Company's safety manual and policies.
  • Use of software to track machine repairs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Technical or vocational school certification or equivalent in training and/or experience.
  • Experience with RS Logix, Case Erectors, Bag Inserters, and Fanuc robots (for OH position only).
  • Knowledge of Siemens, Allen Bradley, or other similar brand of PLC's is required (for OH position only).
  • Able to read and interpret instructions and operation manuals and follow step by step instructions.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability are essential.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electricity, progressive cavity pumps, or related field preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate lock-out/tag-out and confined area procedures.
  • Must be available for Saturday work as required.
  • State issued valid Driver's License; commercial driver's license is a plus.
  • Committed to working safely and following all policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of plant housekeeping fundamentals is essential.
