We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Administrator in the heart of Walnut Creek, California. The chosen individual will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to payroll administration for small to medium-sized companies.

This role entails not only the use of various payroll software but also demands precision in data entry and benefits administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer full cycle payroll for small to medium-sized companies
  • Input details of new employees into the system as part of onboarding activities
  • Execute off-boarding procedures, ensuring accurate issuance of W2, 1099 forms
  • Utilize payroll software such as ADP, Gusto, Paychex, Paylocity etc. in an efficient manner
  • Maintain a fast-paced work environment while ensuring high accuracy in data entry
  • Administer certified payroll, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail
  • Monitor and maintain accurate customer credit records
  • Respond to and resolve customer inquiries related to payroll
  • Perform benefits administration tasks as required
  • Action appropriate responses to changes in customer accounts. • Proficiency in payroll software such as ADP and Gusto
  • Demonstrated experience managing payroll for between 101 - 500 employees
  • Familiarity with union payroll requirements and regulations
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Previous experience in benefits administration
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • Excellent problem-solving/judgement skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
  • Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations.
