Monterey Park Hospital is recruiting for a Full-Time Director of Nursing for our Telemetry Department. This position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer.

Responsibilities:

The Director of Nursing's primary role is to oversee the daily clinical operations of the Med/Surg 237 (Tele) Unit. Primary functions include the 24/7 oversight of patient care including nursing assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation of the delivery of patient care to support the Hospital’s goal of providing quality of care to the patients we serve.
The Director of Nursing recruits and retains competent staff, monitors, coaches, counsels and evaluates staff performance in accordance with the Hospital’s personnel policies. The Director holds staff accountable for their respective job responsibilities.
The Director measures patient outcomes and adjusts programs and services to achieve expected outcomes. The Director will determine department staffing needs, performance improvement initiatives and maintains compliance with The Joint Commission, Title XXII and current state and federal regulations.

The Director consults with hospital leadership on options and permissible actions in order to meet those standards. The Nursing Director reports to the Chief Nursing Officer.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

Current CA RN license, BLS and ACLS required.

Minimum two years in a clinical leadership position.

Knowledge and understanding of The Joint Commission standards, Title XXII and current state and federal regulations.
Good communication skills. Demonstrated ability to interact positively and effectively with employees, physicians and management.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology.

Effective verbal and written communication skills. Independent problem solving and decision making abilities.
