District 7 Office

Overview:
SuccessLink will assign youth leaders and participants to the District 7 Office (Councilor Tania Fernandes-Anderson’s Office). Youth leaders will work remotely on Mondays and Thursdays, doing homework via Zoom with the assistance of a Youth Leader who is ready to help.

They will also meet virtually and occasionally at City Hall for constituent projects.

Youth will participate in District 7 office civic events such as town halls, in-person listening sessions, and other civic engagement activities/events as they arise. Additionally, youth will engage in civic workshops. The goal is to provide quality service to the constituents of District 7 while teaching office etiquette to young people, preparing them for the workforce and encouraging them to pursue opportunities in City Hall using their internship experience.

Angie, the Youth Ambassador/Lead Supervisor, is on call during the listed times and available to the youth and leaders for any questions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Complete homework (Hybrid- Fall) or outreach strategies to engage community members in important social issues (Outdoors- Summer.)
  • Assist in developing and implementing outreach strategies to engage community members in important social issues.
  • Research and analyze local policies, organizations and initiatives that impact our community, providing insights for advocacy efforts.
  • Work with the Director of Constituent Services to brainstorm collaborative efforts to drive innovative solutions for community challenges.

  • Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment and independently when required.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic content creation skills.
  • A desire to learn about grassroots advocacy, community organizing, and civic participation.
