Responsibilities: Your Daily Life at Bethesda Game Studios
As Backend Programmer, you will…- Work with a small team of passionate game devs to implement, test, and maintain high-performance, observable, scalable backend game systems in Go such as matchmaking, seasons, and crash reporting
- Support the integration of backend features with clients by:
- Exposing secure RESTful APIs
- Implementing client SDKs
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure APIs are used correctly by integrators
- Participate in a rolling 24/7 on-call schedule to address live issues if they arise
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and standards
- Learn new technologies and programming languages as needed
- You have 2+ years of building web APIs in Go
- You have experience working in a Linux development environment
- You have experience working with either AWS or Azure
- You are familiar with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD tools
- You have experience modeling data in No SQL (Mongo DB, Document DB, Redis, etc…)
- You have experience with version control systems (Git Hub preferred)
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- You have an understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- You have experience building and supporting distributed systems at scale
- You have C++ experience
- You have experience with Type Script, React, and Redux
- You have experience with observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Influx DB, Splunk) for monitoring, logging, and tracing distributed systems
Backend Programmer - The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $75,000 - $160,000 per year.
Zeni Max has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location.Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year.
Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
