Were seeking a dynamic Director to lead our Before and After School Program at Central School in Larchmont, NY. As the Director, youll play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of the Healthy Kids Program at the site.
JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-ExemptSCHEDULE: 7:20 am - 9:30 am and 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm
PAY: $18 - $20 per hour
YOUR ROLE INCLUDES:
Ensuring Compliance: Oversee that staff and the program are fully compliant with OCFS guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and host school regulations.
Creating Fun: Lead engaging, hands-on activities using the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more. Plus, be the go-to homework help champion!Managing Operations: Handle key management duties such as maintaining accurate attendance records, ensuring proper registration, and managing staffing to keep things running smoothly.
Communication: Maintain open, consistent communication with parents and families through the Playground App.Team Coordination: Regularly communicate with your direct report to keep them informed of daily activities and address any issues promptly. Work together to provide the best care and create a positive work environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
To qualify as a Director, candidates must have:
A bachelors degree, including or supplemented by 12 credits in early childhood, child development, or a related field, at least one year of full-time teaching experience in an early childhood setting, and one year of supervisory experience in a childcare program or a similar field; OR A New York State children's program administrator credential, with one year of teaching experience in an early childhood setting and one year of supervisory experience; OR An associates degree in early childhood or a related field, with a plan to pursue a bachelors degree or New York State children's program administrator credential, along with two years of teaching experience and two years of supervisory experience; OR A Child Development Associate credential or another office-recognized credential, with a plan to pursue a bachelor's degree or New York State children's program administrator credential, plus two years of teaching experience and two years of supervisory experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Be ready to pass a background check, including fingerprinting, references, and SEL & SCR through the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.Youve been medically cleared to perform the duties and are free from communicable diseases, including TB.
Youre warm, friendly, and upbeat, with strong interpersonal skills for interacting with children, parents, and coworkers. Plus, you're professional, dependable, and always on time.
Youre ready to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs., and stay active to keep up with energetic kiddos.
