Water Resources Scientist in Training
Overview:
KCI's Water Resources Practice is looking for a motivated environmental scientist to join our team in Sparks, Maryland. The selected candidate will work with other scientists, water resources engineers, and geospatial analysts to perform storm drain mapping and inspections, stormwater monitoring, analyses of water quality data, and technical report preparation, stormwater best management practice evaluations, drainage area delineations.The Scientist in Training will receive hands-on training working under the supervision of other experienced scientists. The work will include both field and office assignments.

Duties, Responsibilities & Other:
- Perform inspections and data collection of stormwater management facilities, storm drainage systems.
- Perform water quality monitoring and field data collection activities such as stream monitoring, wet weather monitoring, stormwater outfall screening.
- Perform inspections of industrial facilities for compliance with stormwater permits.
- Perform basic GIS Analysis on collected stormwater infrastructure data.
- Process field data, interpret lab results for inclusion in reports and deliverables
- Prepare reports and perform office functions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint preferred
- Experience with Adobe, Bluebeam and photo editors preferred
- Basic knowledge of ArcGIS software preferred
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to work in the field in all weather conditions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 0 -2 years of professional experience. Appropriate professional certification preferred.
