The Role:

Amazon Design Technologies is a multi-disciplinary team that provides design software, systems platforms and design processes to our Product Development, New Technology, Operations, Retail, Footwear, Apparel and Manufacturing teams. We are looking for an experienced Systems Development Engineer who enjoys solving problems and have a strong technical background in Systems Engineering and Software Development.

Key job responsibilities

As a Systems Development Engineer in Design Technologies team, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting the systems that Amazon's research, development, and design teams rely on to build the next generation of Amazon digital devices.
You will coordinate with researchers and engineers to build and support the infrastructure they need. You will work with vendors to evaluate, purchase, deploy, and support mission-critical tools. You will customize and integrate third-party software to meet Amazon's needs.
You will improve existing infrastructure to ensure it continues to meet Amazon's high bar for operational excellence
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
  • 3+ Year of experience & proficiency in developing, deploying applications utilizing AWS cloud solutions
  • 3+ Year of experience & proficiency in managing AWS cloud services
  • 3+ Years of experience automating systems services as well as administering and managing Linux and Widows Servers.
  • 3+ years of experience developing software, applications/services using one or more languages/scripts such as Java, C, C++, Python- Experience working in a high pace DevOps
  • Experience with distributed systems at scale
  • Knowledge of database systems and SQL
  • Knowledge of a front-end language (Javascript, CSS, HTML, etc.)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
