OUR TEAM: Our Tailored R&D Solutions (TRS) business leverages Promega's innovative technologies and R&D expertise to provide customized solutions and a strategic partnership to help advance clients' drug discovery and development workflows. TRS screening services support client drug discovery ventures through high-throughput screening (HTS) and compound selectivity profiling.We are a dynamic, and highly collaborative team that is focused on delivering high quality data with rigor, reproducibility, an operations mindset and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
YOUR ROLE: As an R&D Intern in the TRS screening services team, you will gain hands-on experience supporting laboratory operations. You will assist in running cellular assays, managing compounds, and analyzing data. You will work alongside experienced scientists to learn about laboratory automation, assay development, and how to deliver high-quality, reproducible data for our clients.This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills in drug discovery workflows and contribute to client projects.
YOUR EXPERIENCE: You have experience with mammalian cell culture, data analysis, or laboratory automation. Familiarity with cell biology or cell-based assays through coursework or laboratory work. A strong laboratory background in cell biology, including mammalian cell culture.You have a strong commitment to constant process improvement and optimization. You have experience in some or all of the following areas: cell culture, laboratory automation, method development and validation, compound management, HTS and or selectivity profiling, laboratory informatics, data analysis and scientific writing.
Prior experience working in a fee-for-service or CRO setting is highly desired.
CORE DUTIES:
- Assist in executing and analyzing compound screening and profiling projects.
- Support the team in maintaining compound management systems to ensure availability and integrity.
- Aid in the setup and operation of laboratory automation methods for screening.
- Help with transferring new assays from R&D to TRS screening services.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives in the lab to optimize operations.
- Ensure data accuracy by following established workflows and protocols.
- Prepare reports and participate in client meetings to present findings and insights.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently pursuing a degree in a scientific discipline (Biology, Chemistry, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of cell biology, laboratory techniques, or related fields
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to work at lab bench or laminar flow hood for extended period of time.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment while in the lab (gloves, lab coat, safety glasses, etc.).
- Ability to operate a computer.
