Maintenance Technician - Falls Church

Location: Virginia/ Southern Maryland

The Technician/Handyman is skilled in numerous areas of craftsmanship and will perform a wide variety of jobs. Day-to-day tasks can vary greatly.

• Maintain working knowledge of maintenance methods, materials and equipment, as well as safety regulations and precautions related to work performed.
• Use manual dexterity and skill to safely and proficiently operate various tools and equipment.
• Preform physically strenuous tasks, stand for long periods, climb ladders and work from high places. Be able to bend, stoop, reach, lift and move at least 75 lbs.
• Travel to and from various locations.
• Learn and carry out the primary accountabilities of the assigned position.
• Effectively communicate in writing and orally on job progress and other overall assignments and responsibilities.
• Interpret work from sketches, building plans, specifications and oral or written instructions.
• Perform work inside and/or outside to include being exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, noise and vibration; mechanical, electrical, chemical hazards and atmospheric conditions.
• Work in confined spaces.
• Able to resolve efficiently and be focused and self-motivated.
• Be discrete and flexible while using time management and organization
• Must be able to work unsupervised and in a timely fashion and to respond to emergencies.
