Product & Trade Compliance Manager, Customer Experience and Business Trends

Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) is looking for a talented Product & Trade Compliance Manager to build import and export risk management solutions for a global Special Projects team. This team focuses on identifying opportunities, and solutions which help improve Amazon’s customer experience globally.

As a Product & Trade Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the life-cycle of our team’s cross border compliance activities. You will define the risk programs, set objectives, and drive improvements to your space that are quantified with metrics.
In executing your program, you will partner with internal and external stakeholders to interpret and apply regulations to business processes. You will oversee the rollout of controls and audits, including testing and measuring their effectiveness.

Your solutions will be flexible and capable of scaling across various business models/supply chain arcs, and country regulatory regimes.

In building the programs, the Product & Trade Compliance Manager will draw from their strong subject matter expertise in product testing requirements, classification, valuation, country of origin, special trade programs and export controls. You will stay informed on regulations and technologies relevant to your space and bring them into your risk management programs.

You will also draw from your strong program management skills, presenting organized plans that clearly articulate the problem statement, the recommended solution and milestones along the way.

Key job responsibilities
  • Establish a network of vendors and create SOPs to support import and export risk management for Amazon's global special projects team.
  • Identify opportunities, and solutions which help improve Amazon’s customer experience globally.
  • Analyze and report on overall product and trade compliance risks, as well as potential mitigation solutions.
  • Align with internal compliance teams to ensure policies and procedures are properly interpreted and applied.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of the team's cross-border compliance activities.
  • Define risk programs, set objectives, and drive continuous improvements in compliance processes.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to interpret and apply relevant regulations to business operations.
  • Oversee the rollout of compliance controls and audits, including testing and measuring effectiveness.
  • Develop flexible, scalable compliance solutions that can adapt across different business models, supply chains, and country regulations.
  • Use strong program management skills to create organized plans with clear problem statements, recommended solutions, and defined timelines/owners.
  • Drive alignment and consensus with stakeholders by highlighting potential impacts, trade-offs, and priorities.
  • Quickly balance risk, operational needs, and customer experience when making decisions.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
  • Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship
  • Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent- Master's degree or equivalent
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
