Responsibilities:
- Pharmacy technicians will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist or physician. You will coordinate workflow with the nursing staff to meet the needs of our patients.
- Proficient in sterile technique and infection control during IV compounding.
- Maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals through automation.
- Other non-clinical tasks would include “out date” inventory tracking, preparing and packaging compounded products for delivery, maintaining a sterile aseptic environment at all times.
- Working with hazardous chemotherapy products in a “Chemogard” Hood.
- Working with non-hazardous products in a laminar flow hood.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Phone skills to include a compassionate tone while interacting will all patients, care givers and team members.
- Performs all other duties/responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Education/Certification/License:
- Technician certification is required with current Indiana license. CPhT preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Prefer previous pharmacy experience. Excellent customer service skills required.
- Organization: Able to provide order and structure to daily processes and work environment. Demonstrates good organizational skills and ability to prioritize daily work.
- Verbal Communication: Capable of interacting with, and relating to, people of varying educational levels and backgrounds, conveying information clearly and succinctly, applying listening, tact, responsiveness, empathy, and confidentiality. Effective in communicating verbally with other staff and departments
- Problem Sensitivity: Effective in identifying and analyzing problems.
