Job Summary:
The Inside Sales Representative plays a critical role in growing Prince Industries by managing relationships with existing customers and identifying new opportunities. This role involves supporting the sales cycle, engaging with customers, sales reporting and data analysis, and key account management.As an Inside Sales Representative, you will help grow accounts, solve problems, and ensure customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and support.
Job Responsibilities:
Customer Management: You serve as the primary sales contact for certain contract manufacturing customers. This involves maintaining regular contact and strong relationships with top customers, understanding their business needs, and participating in regular customer meetings.You also function as a key account manager for high-value target customers.
Sales & Margin Analysis: You regularly review customer and part number margins, evaluate sales data, manage the requote process, and collaborate with teammates to correct and improve margins. This includes reviewing sales pivot tables to uncover trends, identifying issues with inaccurate standard costs, and initiating requotes where appropriate.
Sales Strategy Development: You work with the Sales Manager, VP of Sales & Marketing, and Business Development to develop effective sales strategies for existing customers. This involves identifying customers that are not a good fit for the business model and recommending price adjustments or exiting the relationship, as well as identifying customers that should be a focus for growth.
Data Analysis & Reporting: You perform both regular and ad hoc data analyses using sales pivot tables and Epicor (your ERP system). You also develop a monthly sales forecast by customer and division and assist with the annual sales budget, including reviewing and approving requotes under a certain dollar value.
Product Management: You compile sales data by product line, analyze market and competitive data, and understand customer needs.Team Collaboration: You work with teammates to improve knowledge of manufacturing processes and participate in weekly Sales & Marketing meetings.
Qualifications & Experience:
- BS degree in engineering, business, or marketing is preferred but not required.
- Minimum three years of experience in a sales role. Must have engineering background or experience working in a manufacturing/machining environment.
- Analytical thinker with proficiency in Excel for data analysis and the ability to learn and use the ERP system (Epicor).
- Good interpersonal communication skills, able to interact, persuade, and negotiate effectively with both internal teams and customers.
