As part of IT’s Software Engineering team at AVI-SPL, the Manager of Analytics & Reporting will develop and lead AVI-SPL’s organizational efforts by strategically improving our global reporting & analytics mechanisms and outputs across all business units.

In this role, you will combine sophisticated analytical thinking with business acumen to inform decisions, strategies, and solutions at all levels. You will lead collaboration efforts with business leaders to identify and leverage data-driven insights to meaningfully impact how we understand and execute on key performance metrics.

As part of our modern workplace transformation objectives, you will develop and mature the practice of how we engage the business in identifying, developing, and monitoring reports & analytics. It will be your responsibility to lead a team of reporting & analytics specialists to deliver based on business objectives at every level, in a timely and responsive manner.

Your ability to mediate business with technical in an efficient manner will yield strong business integration and engagement. Among AVI-SPL’s functional SMEs & leads, you will cultivate trust so that you may influence their thoughts on change, and champion the value of building through a composable architecture which is fundamentally necessary for AVI-SPL to fully realize an optimized progression of innovation.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead overall strategy and roadmap for reporting & analytics by assessing current state and defining, socializing, & executing on short and long goals toward continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the use of data analysis and root case process assessments to proactively identify waste, inefficiencies, and areas of improvement.
  • Contribute to a high-performance team culture that is purposeful, fun, and rewarding.
  • Build strong relationships with and between your team, business SMEs & leads, and IT teams. Learn what makes them successful and effective and incorporate those learnings into your work products and the ongoing improvement of how we ingest and use data for decisions.
  • Work with functional leaders to identify and reengineer internal reporting & analytic practices that are inefficient, broken, or have a negative downstream effect on datasets.
  • Speak the right language to the right audience, incorporating storytelling to explain and demonstrate through visual representation, complex concepts logically and simply. Remain hands on, with the willingness and ability to dive into details when necessary to mediate and fix what’s broken or innovate and improve upon AVI-SPL’s continuous delivery model.
  • Provide expertise through the direct leadership of qualified reporting & analyst specialists. Ensure adequate documentation is maintained and updated in the system of record.
  • Align team member effort, leading consistency in work products and logical, cross functional coherence of reporting & analytic outputs, executing on right priorities & cadence of work.
  • Be deliberate and laser focused about improving the velocity and quality of how reports & analytics deliverables land within AVI-SPL.
  • Defuse contentious situations around reporting & analytics, securing consensus, managing the perception of loss of autonomy, and overcoming objections and the reluctance to change. Bring clarity to ambiguous or uncertain aspects of use cases.
  • Design, implement, & collaborate on new analytical tools, templates, coding, or methodologies, with an emphasis on optimizing performance outcomes.
  • Manage the data environments and access for quick computing and complex analytics.
  • Lead and implement data integrity principles, ensuring data accuracy and optimization.
  • Leverage industry-standard data visualization and business intelligence tools to develop and improve dashboards, standardizing and mechanizing routine reports based on key metrics.
  • Oversee the use of data analysis and root case process assessments to proactively visualize and identify waste, inefficiencies, and areas of improvement.
  • Bring a passion to stay on top of how the practice of reporting & analytics is evolving. Experiment with and learn new processes and techniques, participate in technological & business intelligence communities, and be deliberate about knowledge sharing.
  • Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.
  • Support the business with Change Management efforts for leveraging new reports & analytics, such as training, knowledge transfer, user adoption, messaging & communication.

  • Expert and deep working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, SQL, and enterprise reporting
  • Ability and willingness to come into any AVI-SPL facility as needed and upon request
  • 5+ years of experience in using modern business intelligence tools & cloud computing to collect, visualize and communicate complex analytics findings to stakeholders

Helpful to have:

  • Direct experience with Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • Direct experience with M.S. Fabric, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks
  • Direct experience with Power Platform AI builder
  • Direct experience with Dataverse
