Overview:

The Concrete Laborer is responsible for preparing the job site, setting up equipment, and performing manual labor such as digging, raking, and sweeping. assists in the pouring, smoothing, and setting of asphalt on roads, pathways, and parking lots.

The main task of the asphalt laborer is to look after the mat; this includes raking, sweeping, and lining of the road. Will also work alongside the tractor, miller, paver, and screed.

Responsibilities:

  • The asphalt/concrete laborer will be responsible for maintaining asphalt/concrete production equipment, including paving machines, hot boxes, and plant equipment.
  • Sweep and clean the area in front of the paver; guide the tractor and assist the screed operator.
  • Work as a flagger to direct motorists away from the work zone.
  • May perform general Asphalt labor duties.
