Corporate Accountant - Asset Management

Robert Half Financial Services are hiring for a Corporate Accountant role for a global Investment firm located in midtown Manhattan New York. Our client requires 2+ years Accounting or Audit experience within asset management, a professional for-profit industry firm, or Big 4 Audit/Assurance.

CPA license is highly preferred (or parts passed as a minimum), with knowledge of GAAP, Financial Statements, General Ledger, Reconciliations and IFRS. The role requires 4 days per week in the midtown Manhattan office and 1 day work from home.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including receiving, reviewing, and processing vendor invoices in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile accounts payable ledgers and vendor statements to ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Ensure proper coding and approval of invoices in alignment with company policies.
  • Work closely with the Accounting & Operations Team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the proper accounting and reporting of all transactions.
  • Knowledgeable of internal control systems surrounding investment companies.
  • Assist with the coordination of the audits of various subsidiaries by independent accountants.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial users.
  • Have the ability to coordinate and execute special projects (e.g., tax, IT, investments) where needed.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years Accounting or Audit experience within asset management, a professional for-profit industry firm, or Big 4 Audit/Assurance.
  • CPA license is highly preferred (or parts passed as a minimum).
  • Knowledge of GAAP, Financial Statements, General Ledger, Reconciliations and IFRS.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Accounting or Finance.
The Corporate Accountant role requires 4 days per week in the midtown Manhattan office, so please only apply if you are able to travel to this location, have relevant experience for the role and are eligible to work in the United States. The salary is flexible dependent on experience, the range is $90-115k base plus 15-20% target bonus and great benefits.
