Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily delivery of patient care, as well as the quality of nursing practice and the standards of care in the Main Operating Room. Ensures continuity and congruity of services through coordination of the overall surgery schedule, supervision and direction of staff, facilitation of responses to physician orders and the acquisition of equipment & services.Serves as a role model and clinical resource to colleagues, staff, and patients. Additionally, incumbent reviews data and devises effective control mechanisms to ensure the environment fosters safe patient care.

Required Qualifications:
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Bachelor of Science, Nursing
Ability to problem solve, think critically and creatively
Strong customer service orientation as well as written and oral communication skills
5 years Operating Room experience or 2 years Operating Room experience with additional experience as a service coordinator, charge nurse or other supervisory experience
Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Proven ability to work independently and follow through with minimal direction
Ability to manage staff and resources consistent with goals and in keeping within the organizational vision and values. Ability to delegate and empower staff and build strong employee morale
Demonstrated ability to lead by influence as well as authority, manage conflict and negotiate successfully.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize daily responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
