Overview:
Responsible for management of heavy fuel oil inventory for the most efficient blending. Manage the daily operations to ensure an efficient terminal operation including staffing personnel and ensuring safety and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for organizing and schedule heavy fuel oil movement.
- Ensure the most cost-effective way to blend heavy fuel oils for various specification requirements.
- Ensure inventory balances are accurate, testing requirements are current and specification requirements are met.
- Schedule delivery and loading of railcars and trucks.
- Schedule personnel to operate and maintain the terminal in an efficient and timely manner in accordance with the labor agreement.
- Prepare monthly gain/loss reports
- Manage the office to include approving timecards, invoices, purchase office supplies, answers phones, and maintain correspondence.
- Respond as part of emergency response team.
- Responsible for maintaining training records and scheduling new operator training.
- Function as the facility security officer. Oversee the facility security plan and trains employees and vendors in security procedures.
- Participate in the company’s Spill Management Team as required.
Qualifications:
- Effective supervisory skills. Direct workers in assigning jobs and seeing them through completion.
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain and work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
- Maintain the confidentially of all sensitive communications.
- Must be able to understand and use information in product information cards and material safety data sheets.
- Must be able to operate office equipment including: facsimile, computer, and copy machine.
- Knowledge of Marine Terminal operations.
- Knowledge of petroleum products and customer specifications.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures in case of fire, spills or injury.
- Understand fuel oil blending concepts and practices.
- Four year college education in maritime or equivalent work experience.
- HAZWOPER training.
- First Aid and CPR training.
Expected Hours of Work:
- Normal office hours are 0800 to 1700, Monday through Friday.
- May be required to work more than the normal work week, including weekends.
- Must be available 24 hours a day to handle communications concerning changes in schedule and conditions.
