Team Leader Job Summary
Team Leaders are responsible for project setup, managing customer deliverables, and team member expectations and general supervision. Ongoing training with the team to maintain consistent work and communication with customers and employees. Team Leaders travel to the manufacturing plants, where the parts are being made, or the warehouses where the parts are being stored to supervise our teams of quality inspectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and Process Nonconforming Materials:
Oversee the receipt of nonconforming materials, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with company protocols.
Inspect materials to confirm they match documentation and report any discrepancies.
Coordinate Returns to Suppliers:
Prepare nonconforming materials for return to suppliers, including arranging shipping logistics, procuring shipping labels, and verifying packaging requirements.
Work with suppliers to establish return timelines and resolve material-related issues.
Supplier Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers regarding nonconforming materials.
Provide detailed status updates, follow up on pending returns, and address inquiries professionally and promptly.
Maintain Records and Documentation:
Keep comprehensive records of all nonconforming materials, including receipts, shipping details, supplier correspondence, and status updates.
Generate reports to track material status and provide updates to management as needed.
Callaborate Across Teams:
Work closely with internal departments such as Quality, Operations, and Logistics to ensure the efficient processing of nonconforming materials.
Communicate effectively with external partners, including Volvo, to address material concerns or updates.
Job Qualifications & Skills
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Experience:
Previous experience in shipping, logistics, materials management, or warehouse operations preferred.
Experience with nonconforming materials, supplier communications, or office/administrative tasks is a plus.
Familiarity with shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, USPS) and tracking systems is advantageous.
