Horton, Inc., has an opening for a Application Engineering Co-op at our Corporate Headquarters in Roseville, MN. This is an onsite position with the ability to be a Winter/Summer 2025 or Summer/Fall 2025 Co-Op experience.

Position Summary:
The Application Engineering Co-op position will perform varied duties of a complex nature. The candidate will support integration of existing products into new applications with general guidance from the Manager and direct guidance from a full-time engineer / mentor.Key skills include design, analysis, DFMEA, test planning, and component/system testing to ensure products achieve performance and reliability targets. The candidate will use testing results and advanced analysis tools to approve product applications and make recommendations where required.

- Modeling and drafting of concepts into designs that can be tested.
- Conducts computer aided analysis of new concepts with FEA and/or CFD.
- Tests materials and concepts, working closely with the test lab staff to design tests and document results.
- Develops test designs to measure the function and quality of products and to test new ideas or modifications of existing products.
- Provides technical expertise in support of improvements to existing product designs; authorizes product design revisions.
- Provides engineering support to the process of modification of existing products to meet customer requirements, while retaining product function and quality.

Qualifications:
Engineering Co-op Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 years of school completed with strong academic performance (3.0 GPA or above)
- Junior, Senior and Master's status
- Demonstrated leadership, strong initiative and decision-making skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter who can work well independently and as part of a team
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across the organization/Selfless, positive, get-it-done attitude
