Electrical / Industrial Maintenance Technician III- 1st Shift
Overview:
THE ROLE
The 1st Shift Electrical / Industrial Maintenance Technician III will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repair, preventative maintenance, and installation tasks both on the facilities, physical plant equipment, as well as production equipment, and machinery.This position requires demonstration of competency for all activities that either directly or indirectly affect product safety and quality. Will work onsite at our state of art Innovation and Manufacturing facility in here Winston-Salem, NC.
HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:
- Adhere to all company and OSHA safety rules, policies and regulations.
- Perform safety and environmental inspections, as required.
- Proactively look for equipment trends, root causes and variances. Develop action plans for and implement improvements.
- Cross-train Maintenance team on skills as appropriate.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on all plant and production equipment.
- Quickly respond to and correct equipment mechanical and electrical issues.
- In-depth and demonstrated knowledge of PLCs, use Ladder logic (minor code changes) and related controls, with ability to cross-train others.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective/worn equipment parts, control devices, motors, belts, etc.
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Actively perform assigned PMs, PdM tasks, and continuous improvement activities.
- Develop projects and process improvement initiatives. Assemble cross-functional teams.
- Troubleshoot pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
- Perform facility lighting change-outs (interior, exterior).
- Train others in safe and proper use of aerial lifts.
- Effectively communicate shift/daily pass downs.
- Must be willing to work in a team environment.
- Positive attitude, willingness, and desire to learn.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- This position will require the employee to operate a motorized powered lift i.e. Forklift, Scissor lift, one man lift, etc. A MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) will determine an employee’s eligibility to operate these lifts.
Grade level movement dependent on demonstrated equipment knowledge, tracked via Maintenance Training Matrix.

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Skills:
- Electrical skills
- Welding skills
- Carpentry skills
- Mechanical skills
- Display and possess a strong background in prior plant electrical work
- Display mechanical aptitude and experience
- Proficient with use of meters and electrical test equipment and use of power tools
- Competent with electrical print reading, both for installations and troubleshooting
- Experience with both AC Drives and PLC equipment
- Excellent safety record
- Strong organization and communication skills, both written and oral
- Intuitive. Pays attention to details
Experience:
- 8+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology/Mechatronics, and/or Associate degree in Electrical/Electronics
- HVAC-R training/education with license/certifications
- Electrical license
