Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Support and Coordination:
- Assist the Project Manager and Senior Project Engineer in the planning, coordination, and execution of projects.
- Coordinate the work of subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain project documentation, including construction schedules, submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change orders.
- Technical Assistance:
- Provide technical support during the design, planning, and execution phases of projects.
- Assist with reviewing and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure project compliance.
- Ensure proper installation and inspection of construction materials and equipment.
- Project Scheduling and Cost Management:
- Support the creation and maintenance of project schedules, tracking progress, and helping to identify potential delays or risks.
- Help prepare and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and working with project managers to ensure that projects remain within budget.
- Monitor project costs, processing invoices, and reviewing payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Quality Control and Safety:
- Ensure construction activities comply with safety regulations and best practices.
- Support site inspections, quality control checks, and compliance with company and industry standards.
- Assist in ensuring all necessary permits and inspections are completed in accordance with local regulations.
- Submittals and Documentation:
- Prepare, organize, and track submittals, RFIs, and change orders, ensuring timely responses and resolutions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project files, including construction drawings, documentation, and correspondence.
- Prepare project status reports and assist in presenting updates to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between the project team, clients, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring clear and timely communication.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing project reports, proposals, and client presentations.
- Address project-related inquiries from stakeholders, escalating issues as necessary.

The Successful Applicant
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in construction engineering or a related field, ideally in general contracting, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Microsoft Project) and general construction practices.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong technical understanding of construction processes, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and construction-related software.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
