Accounting Clerk

OVERVIEW ::

This position performs accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounting documents and deals with an internal and external customer base, maintains records, carries out procedures, and answers phones.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS ::

  • Accurately monitor expenses and prepare AP accrual monthly – update AP Distribution report weekly.
  • Monitor freight invoices: Run reports and clean-up anomalies.
  • Enter adjustments for Parts Room Inventory.
  • Cross-train with Staff Accountant to prepare invoices, credit adjustments, and reporting.
  • Run reports in ERP system, prepare analysis files for the staff accountant.
  • Provide support for monthly closing by preparing files, entering journal entries, preparing accruals, and reconciliations as needed.
  • Provide backup for other accounting roles as needed.
  • Various other duties or projects as needed.

REQUIREMENTS ::

  • An associate degree in accounting or related field(s) is required.
  • A/R and A/P experience, preferably with a large organization or high volume. Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated.
  • Sound work ethic, honesty, and strong moral character.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must have intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
