Summary:
Performs economic research and studies of rates of return, depreciation and investments. Analyzes profit-and-loss income statements and prepares reports and recommendations to management. Generates forecasts and analyzes trends in sales, finance and other areas of business.Researches economic progressions to assist the organization's financial planning. Creates financial models of "what if" scenarios for future business planning decisions in areas such as new product development, new marketing strategies, etc. Additionally, they handle economic reports on subjects such as rate of return, depreciation, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and the effects of governmental regulations.
Furthermore, they develop Earned Value (EV) baselines, associated planning and work authorization documentation, and generate EV reports with associated analyses.
Major Position Responsibilities:
- Conducts quantitative analyses of information affecting budgets, expenses, and other financial projects
- Collects and analyzes financial information for assigned accounts, products or product lines, or business units to track the organization's progress against financial goals
- Reports current or expected financial performance and creates financial models to guide decision making
- Analyzes cash flow, expenditures, revenue, depreciation, and investments to make recommendations for action and/or modifications regarding financial procedures, plans, and controls
- Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, or annual financial statements
- May also support corporate planning by conducting analyses of operational effectiveness and capacity utilization
Basic Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree
- OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in Accounting/Cost Estimating or related Finance Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
- Knowledge of financial management principles, program planning, Earned Value (EV) reporting for government contracts, budgeting and practices
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Possesses and applies knowledge of concepts, principles, practices and procedures of specialization to the completion of assignments
- Strong computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling and team interface
- Strong written, digital and verbal communication skills in both an individual and team environment
- Looks for ways to improve and promote quality
- Must be able to possess strong, planning, execution and multitasking skills and have demonstrated ability to reprioritize on the fly
- Must be able to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines
- Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety
- Decisions are guided by policy, procedures and business plan
Other Requirements:
- Proficiency with MS Office 365 tools
- Professional demeanor and presentation skills for frequent meetings, presentations
