Mechanical Engineering Professional Senior
A Mechanical Engineering Professional Senior is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Cary, NC (hybrid) area. A Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for leading and mentoring teams, engaging clients, driving business development, and delivering innovative engineering design and consulting solutions in the energy sector with a focus on decarbonization and sustainability.

responsibilities:
- Mentor and/or manage junior and mid-level mechanical engineers.
- Engage with clients to evaluate energy needs, develop concept-level plans, and provide engineering design solutions.
- Lead mechanical engineering teams to deliver advisory services and solutions across various market sectors.
- Participate in strategy formation, business development, and sales to expand the energy transition portfolio.
- Collaborate with Client Account Managers and sales teams on strategic pursuits.
- Demonstrate broad knowledge of mechanical and process engineering disciplines.
- Engage in consulting, design, design management, project management, and Owner's Engineer or contract management roles.
Skills:
- Experience with thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water).
- Expertise in utility master planning or decarbonization/climate response planning.
- Knowledge of cogeneration or combined heat and power systems.
- Experience with heat pumps and heat recovery chillers.
- Prior experience in personnel management.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- At least 10 years of engineering design and/or consulting experience.
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure (any US state).
